11 Aug 2010: Norwich based security firm expands regional operations

Security firm GSL Dardan has recently acquired a major competitor - Peterborough based Business Watch UK Security Services. As a result GSL Dardan has increased its staff in the East Midlands from 100 to 550. This acquisition, along with the existing annual turnover of £11.5mn; makes the company one of the largest independent providers of security services in the region.

Chairman Mark Duffy commented “this acquisition strengthens our position in an area where we expect to see increased demand for our services and is also in preparation of a move further into the Cambridge area. Having the correct local infrastructure and support is critical in being able to deliver a robust service to our customers. The acquisition helps us achieve this. We plan to take the company turnover to £18mn within the next 5 years”. 

GSL Dardan moved to purpose built headquarters on the Longwater Business Park in Norwich in early 2009 but the company also operates from six other offices throughout East Anglia plus an additional office in Aberdeen. As well as security guarding, remote CCTV monitoring and key holding response services, the company also operates a specialist investigations division and a security systems division from its Norfolk and Suffolk offices.
