ASDA invests in plan updates

The project, undertaken by C A Design Services (CADS), used a team of surveyors backed up by a team of CAD technicians. CADS impressed the team at ASDA with innovative hand-held barcode readers that automatically update the store CAD plan as the data is collected.

Stuart Murray, ASDA’s Project Manager takes up the story: “There is a continuous rollout of initiatives and projects going on in our stores across the country and we know from experience that having accurate records of our space and stores is vital for our business going forwards.  This is why we decided to go for the big-bang approach of updating our plans in one big swoop.  We anticipate excellent return on investment by optimising our space following this essential exercise.”

The collected data has been populated into a centralised database using CADS StoreSpace software. Guy Moates, Director at C A Design Services adds,
