Design Engineer

Job Description

Based at their new offices at Hewett Park, Great Yarmouth, the Design Engineer will be responsible for the creation of original designs, selecting appropriate materials and carrying out engineering calculations to prove strength, safety and stability of mechanical structures and components. You will also need to produce and update detailed working drawings for the new or improved as well as the existing specialist geotechnical equipment. They must refer to and comply with relevant standards, produce electronic drawings, create engineering packs and set-up, then maintain a drawing office system.

Working with our engineering and operational teams, you will help provide solutions and possible modifications to tackle issues arising from the equipment regarding data and sample collection.

Your tools to perform the role will be your experience in design of welded and fabricated structures and in mechanical engineering, preferably in a Marine or Oil & Gas environment. Relevant qualifications as a Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic Engineer or Draughtsperson, (minimum HND level) would certainly be favoured and your IT skills including CAD or closely related 3D design packages.
